The Council of Europe published today the first two evaluation reports on the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence in Austria and Monaco, prepared and adopted by the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO). The reports contain an overall analysis of the implementation of the provisions of the Istanbul Convention in each country. They highlight positive initiatives in preventing and combating all forms of violence against women at the national level, and provide suggestions and proposals to improve the situation of women facing such violence.
The next two evaluation reports, on Albania and Denmark, are expected to be published in time to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on 25 November 2017.
