Project against Cybercrime

About the project

The objective of the project is to promote broad implementation of the Convention on Cybercrime (ETS 185) and its Protocol on Xenophobia and Racism (ETS 189).

This includes:

  • Assistance to the development of national legislation in line with the provisions of the Convention
  • Training of judges, prosecutors and law enforcement officers in the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of cybercrimes
  • Training of criminal justice officials and 24/5 contact points in international cooperation on cybercrime.

Activities cover member States of the Council of Europe as well as non-European countries that are prepared to bring their legislation in line with the Convention on Cybercrime.

The project is currently funded from the budget of the Council of Europe and voluntary contributions by MICROSOFT and the Government of Estonia. Additional contributions are required to permit the implementation of all activities foreseen.
