2017 Crystal Scales of Justice Prize - Publication of the final selection

The European “Crystal Scales of Justice Prize”, awarded by the Council of Europe, allows discovering, highlighting and sharing innovative practices aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of judicial systems. Out of 37 applications from 18 countries and also from two international institutions, the jury, composed of justice professionals, shortlisted four projects, which will be presented at the Crystal Scales of Justice Prize awarding ceremony in Edinburgh on 27 October 2017.

The four initiatives are:
- Court Pulse - The Management Revolution, by the The Judicial-Legal Council and Institute of Law and Philosophy/Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan;
- Educational Programme “Judiciary: informed choice and public confidence. Open Courts and Prosecutors’ Offices”, by the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Bulgaria;
- Migrants – Courts of Catania and discharging appeals against the action taken by the Territorial Commissions for International Protection, by the Court of Catania, Italy;
- Witness Service in Norwegian courts, by the Norwegian Courts Administration.

The Crystal Scales of Justice Prize will be awarded to one of these 4 projects, and the remaining 3 will receive a special mention from the jury.

A press conference will take place within the Learning Suite, Judicial Institute for Scotland, Parliament House,11 Parliament Square, Edinburgh (United Kingdom)  on Friday 27 October 2017 at 12.15 after the proclamation of the palmares of the 2017 edition of the Crystal Scales of Justice Prize.
