Key Events and Meetings

On the occasion of its 60^th anniversary and Europe Day, the European flag will be hoisted on the spire of the Strasbourg Cathedral. Messages by European personalities will also be broadcast on a large screen nearby. Starting on 5 May, the Council of Europe will organise a number of events open to the public tracing back the history of this emblem that has come to symbolise a common European identity.
