Strengthening the capacities of the judiciary
Reinforcing the capacity of the judiciary to apply European human rights standards at the national level in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Phase II
The three main goals of the project are:
- To support the harmonisation of judicial practice within Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the European Court of Human Rights case law in respect of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- To enhance the capacity of judges, prosecutors and lawyers to apply the European Convention on Human Rights and European Social Charter standards at the national level
- To strengthen co-operation and exchanges amongst legal professionals throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Strengthening judiciary capacities in the application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Phase I
The three main goals of the project are:
- To provide help of experts in establishing the instance for appellation of BiH;
- Enhancement of existing instruments of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), including development of data bases containing judicial practice and incorporation of the Educational program of the Council of Europe on human rights for judiciary into instruments of education to enhance cooperation between courts on all levels;
- Promotion of conformation of judicial practice in BiH and conformation of relevant judicial practice with the practice of the European Court on Human Rights; strengthening capacities of judges and prosecutors in the everyday application of standards set by the European Convention on Human Rights.
