The main objective of the visit was to examine the measures taken by the Slovak authorities to implement various recommendations made by the Committee after previous visits. In this context, particular attention was paid to the treatment and safeguards afforded to persons deprived of their liberty by the police, the conditions of detention in prisons as well as the situation of persons held in psychiatric and social welfare establishments.

The response of the Slovak authorities to the recommendations made in the report has also been published today.
