A delegation of the Committee of Experts is visiting Cyprus this week from 6-7 June 2024 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. The delegation is meeting with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and the competent authorities in Nicosia/Lefkosia. This is the seventh monitoring visit of the Committee to Cyprus. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in Cyprus containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in the beginning of 2025.
