Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz
Poland

Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz became the President of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) in 2019, after serving as a member of the MONEYVAL Bureau (2011-2015) and a Vice-Chair of MONEYVAL (2015-2019). Ms Franków-Jaśkiewicz has over 28 years of experience in the Polish government administration, including work on AML/CFT within the Polish FIU, and at a pan-European and global level. She  currently holds the position of Deputy Director of the Polish Financial Intelligence Unit.

Ms Franków-Jaśkiewicz steered MONEYVAL’s work with passion and dedication. The success of MONEYVAL activities during her presidency culminated in the significant results achieved by the first MONEYVAL ministerial meeting held in Warsaw, where MONEYVAL’s Strategic Priorities for 2023-2027 where adopted. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the political crisis caused by the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, her firm steering enabled MONEYVAL to successfully carry out without interruption its monitoring work.

As MONEYVAL Chair, she worked closely with AML/CFT stakeholders worldwide to build bridges and reach mutual objectives of reducing crime and recovering assets. At the same time, she raised the awareness of  many stakeholders about the Council of Europe and   MONEYVAL’s action against money laundering and terrorism financing. She has also been active in ensuring that MONEYVAL has an active voice in the Financial Action Task Force's efforts to consolidate and strengthen the AML/CFT Global Network.
