- Beschreibung
- Le Gallerie degli Uffizi is state museum complex including the Uffizi Gallery, the Vasari Corridor, the collections of Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens.
Begun in 1549 and designed by Niccolò Pericoli, known as Tribolo, for Duchess Eleonora of Toledo, the arrangement of the Boboli Gardens created the model of an Italian garden that became an example for many European courts. The vast green area divided in a regular way, constitutes a real open-air museum, populated with ancient and Renaissance statues, adorned with caves and monumental fountains (www.europeanhistoricgardens.eu/en/portfolio-item/boboli-garden).
