A meeting between the EPA Governing Board, Czech Republic authorities and Cyril and Methodius Cultural Route (certified in 2021) representatives took place in Strasbourg, at the Council of Europe headquarters on 18 October. The meeting was held in the framework of the exhibition “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe: the Cyril and Methodius Route - Zlín Region”, from 17th-20th October at the European Parliament, Strasbourg, in cooperation with the Zlín Region and East-Moravian Tourist Authority.
The meeting was the opportunity for Ms. Martina DLABAJOVÁ, Member of the European Parliament (Czech Republic) to discuss with the Vice-Chair of the EPA Governing Board, Ms. Margarita LIOULIA, the Route’s potential for further development and expansion. The meeting was opened by Mr. Matjaž GRUDEN, Director of Democratic Participation, Directorate General of Democracy and Human Dignity, Council of Europe and attended by: Mr. Michael NAKOS, Representative of the Hellenic Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe; Mr. Radim HOLIŠ, Governor of the Zlín Region; Mr. Lubomír TRAUB, Deputy Governor of the Zlín Region and President of the Association of the European Cultural Routes of Saints Cyril and Methodius; Ms. Zuzana VOJTOVÁ, Director of the East-Moravian Tourist Authority and Director of the Association of the European Cultural Routes of Saints Cyril and Methodius and Mr. Martin PETERKA, Manager of the Association of the European Cultural Routes of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
Currently, the Czech Republic is an Observer State to the Governing Board of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe for 2022 and is crossed by 11 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
