Tbilisi Training
on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe
5-6 December 2019
The Training provides an overview of the main characteristics of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme, serving as an essential reference for managers, developers, stakeholders and representatives of member States interested in the implementation of Cultural Routes.
It addresses aspects ranging from the Council of Europe’s conventions to co-creation, fundraising and governance of Cultural Routes with a view to certification as “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe”.
The Training consists of 6 modules with the aim to:
- provide a general contextualization of the evolution of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme, from its origins to the present;
- explore the process of creation of a cultural route according to the criteria established by the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme;
- focus on the evaluation cycle of cultural routes, the criteria for the award of the “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe” certification and the preparation of applications for certification;
- explore key principles for transnational connectivity, network governance and cooperation within and between Cultural Routes;
- present examples of successful cases and good practices implemented by the certified Cultural Routes with regards to the five priority fields of action;
- analyse challenges and opportunities for Cultural Routes crossing Georgia.
The Seminar is co-organised by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia in cooperation with the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia.
