On 27 September, the Department for the Execution of Judgments participated in a roundtable held in Tbilisi on enhancing coordination among national stakeholders for the execution of the European Court’s judgments by Georgia. The event brought together representatives of various state agencies of Georgia involved in the execution process, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Special Investigation Service, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Supreme Court and Parliament. The participants discussed existing modalities of coordination and cooperation at the national level and ways of enhancing their effectiveness.
On 25-26 September, the Department also participated in a workshop on the execution of the European Court’s judgments for legal staff of the Georgian courts. The participants of the workshop were familiarised with the Committee of Ministers’ supervision process and the main pending issues in the cases concerning Georgia.
The events took place within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Reinforcing National Execution of the European Court's Judgments by Georgia”.
