On 22 January, the Department for the Execution of Judgments held a training for the staff of the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Republic of Armenia on their role in the execution process, notably as regards the submission of communications under Rule 9 of the Rules of the Committee of Ministers for the supervision of the execution of judgments and of the terms of friendly settlements.
The Department highlighted that the Office already actively participates in the process and that communications have been submitted in a number of cases pending under the supervision of the Committee of Ministers. Further steps to facilitate such participation were discussed in detail.
This event was organised by the Council of Europe’s Division of Co-operation Programmes under the project “Strengthening human rights safeguards for the displaced population in Armenia”.
