On 20 November, the Department for the Execution of Judgments participated in an online meeting of the Working Group on the National Execution Strategy and Action Plan for the Execution of Judgments and Decisions of the European Court by the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting took place within the framework of the Council of Europe Project on “Support for the Improvement of the Execution of the European Court Judgments by Azerbaijan”.
It was conducted with the participation of representatives of the Administration of the President, the Parliament (Milli Majlis), the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives, the Institute of Law and Human Rights and the Azerbaijani Bar Association.
The discussions focused on establishing an effective legislative framework, improving coordination during the execution process, resolving the backlog of cases, enhancing domestic monitoring by Parliament and the Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan, and ensuring adequate training for all stakeholders involved in the execution of judgments.
