On 18-19 September 2023, the Committee of Experts on the Integrity of Online Information (MSI-INF) held its fourth meeting. Ms Artemiza-Tatiana Chisca, Head of the Media and Internet Division, Information Society Department and Secretary to CDMSI opened the meeting. The discussion focused on the finalisation of the Draft Guidance Note on countering the spread of online mis- and disinformation through fact-checking and platform design solutions in a human rights-compliant manner and the Draft Explanatory Memorandum that accompany the Guidance Note. The Expert Committee reached an agreement regarding the content of both documents that has been tasked to prepare. The Guidance Note, together with its Explanatory Memorandum, will be forwarded to the CDMSI for adoption at its plenary meeting on 29 November - 1 December 2023.
