A meeting of partner organisations to the Safety of Journalism Platform of the Council of Europe took place in Budapest on 29-30 June 2022. Patrick Penninckx, Head of the Information Society Department presented to the leading journalists rights organisations the latest policy recommendations to promote freedom of expression and media freedom. He further informed participants on the key actions for the journalists’ protection and free media, the major cooperation activities with target countries as well as the CDMSI programme of activities for the coming years (2022-2025).

Inter alia participants discussed the opportunity and relevance for Council of Europe campaign to promote the safety of journalists in its member countries.
