‘Journalist in the Class’ was organized for schools in mid April under the project “CloserToTheNews”. Journalists came to class, or classes visited a newsroom. A total of 70 workshops and tours were held at or by public and private news organisations.

Journalist in the Classroom is a collaboration between DichterBijNieuws and Nieuws In De Klas, an existing initiative of the trade organisation of private news publishers: NDP Nieuwsmedia.

Valuable conversations were held with students about how journalists work and about the (importance of) press freedom.
