Bradford’s People Library is an ever-growing and fascinating collection of human ‘books’, all with their own interesting, surprising and inspirational stories to tell. Showcasing both the diversity and commonality within the district, they build a library of resilience, community, achievements and true Bradfordian spirit.

An initiative from Bradford Council’s Bradford for Everyone programme, the People Library was launched in November 2020 and is regularly updated with a selection of stories and videos from a diverse range of Bradfordians, highlighting the many things everyone has in common as human beings, as well as celebrating differences.

The bookshelf continues to grow to become a sustainable ‘Bradford bookshelf’. Bradfordians having inspiring or stereotype-breaking story to tell are invited to contribute to the People Library by becoming a human book.
