BAK Economics AG (BAK) is an independent Swiss economic research institute, which produces comprehensive economic studies and makes the findings of these studies useful for politics, business and society.
Macroeconomic, regional and sector-specific questions on an empirical and quantitative basis are the focus of BAK's analyses. BAK has been supporting cities and regions in their monitoring and strategic development with BAK Regional Economics Analysis (REA) for more than 20 years.
Andrea Wagner is responsible for international studies and projects, mainly regional economic analysis. She has been the project lead of the OPENCities-Monitor since 2010 and head of international regions division since 2017. BAK has been commissioned by the Council of Europe within the ICC project since 2009. BAK supported the Council of Europe in developing, implementing and maintaining the ICC benchmarking tool (Intercultural Cities Index).
Andrea Wagner studied economics at the Universities of Munich and Cambridge (UK). She graduated and received her doctorate from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich (Dr. oec.-publ.).
