A total of 460 people; 120 in Izmir, 160 in Antalya, 120 in Istanbul and 60 in Mardin benefitted from these trainings.

Within the scope of the training seminars, the Project aims to increase the capacities of all actors involved in the field of family justice on relevant human rights standards. Another objective of the trainings is to promote a gender equality perspective among the relevant family justice actors. In this framework, the training seminars will raise awareness on the right to a fair trial, equality between women and men and non-discrimination, and  ensure the effective protection of the rights of all family members, particularly of women. In addition, the level of knowledge of the target groups has been increased on the observance of the best interests of the child in line with the principles of child-friendly justice when interviewing children in family court proceedings.

Cascade trainings will continue to be held in Ankara in June and September.

The “Improving the Effectiveness of Family Courts: Better Protection of the Rights of Family Members” Project is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe and Justice Academy of Türkiye. The Project aims to ensure that the rule of law and fundamental rights in Turkey are fully in line with international and European standards and to improve the effectiveness of family courts in protecting the rights of women, children, and other family members.
