The guidelines on child-friendly justice and their explanatory memorandum, which were adopted by the Council of Europe in 2010, has been published in Turkish under the EU/CoE Joint Project on “Improving the Effectiveness of Family Courts: Better Protection of the Rights of Family Members”.
The guidelines are based on existing international and European standards, in particular the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights. The guidelines are designed to guarantee children’s effective access to and adequate treatment in justice.
The published guidelines will be disseminated to Project stakeholders, notably Family Court judges, public prosecutors and the judges of the Regional Courts of Justice in Turkey.
The guidelines in Turkish can be reached on the Project’s e-library by clicking this link.
The “Improving the Effectiveness of Family Courts: Better Protection of the Rights of Family Members” Project is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe and Justice Academy of Turkey. The Project aims to ensure rule of law and fundamental rights in Turkey as fully in line with international and European standards and to improve the effectiveness of family courts in protecting the rights of women, children, and other family members.
