In service training sessions, which aim to increase the capacities of first instance judges and prosecutors to identify violations of fundamental rights and freedoms continued with the ninth session organized on 16-18 March 2018 in İzmir. The aim is to deliver peer training sessions to nearly 3000 judges and prosecutors before the end of 2018.
128 judges and prosecutors from first instance courts, Courts of Appeals and reporter judges from the Court of Cassation participated in the training.
Participants were trained within the context of the following topics in relation to the main elements of the protection of human rights:
- Right to liberty and security
- Right to life
- Prohibition of torture
- Right to respect for private life and family life
- Freedom of thought, conscience and religion
- Freedom of expression
- Freedom of assembly and association
- Right to fair trial
- Right to property
Participants were given certificates at the end of the session.
