Lawyers from Kastamonu and Giresun Bar Associations Enhance Skills on Individual Applications before the Constitutional Court

A total of 35 lawyers from the Kastamonu Bar Association and 28 lawyers from the Giresun Bar Association took part in a two-day training on Procedures of Individual Application before the Constitutional Court.

The training sessions were led by experienced legal professionals who had completed the Project’s training of trainers programme. Participants explored core aspects of the individual application procedure before the Constitutional Court, including the requirement to exhaust domestic remedies, time limits for lodging applications, the concept of manifestly ill-founded claims, as well as other key admissibility criteria. Participants appreciated the in-depth and interactive discussions on various topics, including the formal requirements for submitting an individual application, inadmissibility criteria, rights not eligible as standalone claims, application procedures, common procedural errors and the grounds for the rejection of individual complaints.

The Joint Project on “Supporting the Effective Implementation of Turkish Constitutional Court Judgments in the Field of Fundamental Rights” is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe. The Turkish Constitutional Court is the end beneficiary of the Project.
