The European Union – Council of Europe Joint Project on Strengthening Democratic Culture in Basic Education, which is implemented by the Ministry of National Education and the Council of Europe, has organised workshops for students of the pilot schools of the Project on 11-12 and 14-15 April 2022 in Ankara.
The first workshop started on 11 April 2022 with the participation of children from Adana, Aydın, Iğdır, Sinop and Sivas provinces. During the workshop, students coming from the pilot schools had the opportunity to share their experiences with their peers, be informed about the practices in other schools, and raise their awareness on the Project activities. On the first day of the workshop, students also paid a visit to Ataturk’s Mausoleum.
The workshop, prepared by the national and international experts of the project, included activities which encouraged children's participation, entertaining games, informative sessions and co-operation-based activities. It was aimed for students to enjoy a full learning experience and share these experiences with their peers, families and teachers upon returning to their schools.
The second workshop will be attended by the students studying in the pilot schools in Muğla, Çanakkale, Kars, Yozgat and Burdur provinces on 14-15 April 2022.
