The third meeting of the Steering Committee of the Joint Project on “Supporting the Individual Application to the Constitutional Court in Turkey” was held on 6 April 2017 in Ankara. The representatives of the Constitutional Court, the main beneficiary of the project, the project stakeholders (the Court of Cassation, the Council of State, the Ministry of Justice, the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors, the Military Court of Cassation, the High Military Administrative Court, Justice Academy, Union of Turkish Bar Associations, EU Delegation and the Central Finance and Contracts Unit) and observers (the Ombudsman Institution and the National Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey) attended the meeting. After the opening speeches, delivered by Mr Michael Ingledow, Head of Ankara Programme Office of the Council of Europe and Mr Selim Erdem, Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, Mr Daniel Schmidt, Head of Unit, Ms Stephanie Jung, Project Coordinator and Mr Yücel Erduran, Project Manager, briefed the participants on the progress of the project and its activities organized since the last meeting of the Steering Committee in October 2016 as well as the activities planned, and presented the activities planned and implemented in line with the adjustments made to the Description of the Action as proposed in the previous Steering Committee Meeting. The meeting ended following the comments and recommendations of stakeholders regarding the implemented activities and planned modifications.
