Malta: implementation of the new National Anti-Trafficking Strategy and Action Plan initiated

On 9 and 10 July 2024, a training session on the theory of change and the monitoring and evaluation framework was organised in Valetta (Malta) for members of the Anti-Human Trafficking Interministerial Committee to ensure an efficient implementation of the National Anti-Trafficking Strategy and Action Plan. This training was preceded by an online coaching session on 25 and 26 June 2024 on tools and processes needed to strengthen evaluation and monitoring capacities.

Further, an awareness-raising event was organised on 10 July by the Human Rights Initiatives Unit and the Office of the Commissioner for Children, during which members of the Council for Children were sensitised to the risks and forms of trafficking in human beings and prevention methods.

This activity was carried out in the framework of the Project “Supporting Malta in the design and implementation of a new anti-trafficking strategy”, which aims to contribute to the ongoing policy reform for combating trafficking in human beings in Malta. The project is co-funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the European Commission.
