32nd meeting of the Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe Anti-Trafficking Convention

The 32nd meeting of the Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings took place in Strasbourg on 16 June 2023 and online.

At the outset of the meeting, the Committee elected Ambassador Maria Spassova (Bulgaria) as Chair and Ambassador Jean-Cedric Janssens de Bisthoven (Belgium) as Vice-Chair, for a one-year term of office.

The Committee decided to amend its Rules of Procedure by introducing a new rule concerning the restriction of participation of a Party to the Convention, and to apply this rule to Belarus.

During the meeting, on the basis of GRETA’s reports, the Committee adopted recommendations addressed to the authorities of Estonia and Greece (2nd evaluation round) and Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain (3rd evaluation round).

The Committee also considered reports from the governments of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro and Romania concerning the implementation of previous recommendations issued to these Parties in the context of the 3rd evaluation round of the Convention.
