Petya Nestorova has been responsible for the Council of Europe’s activities in the area of combating trafficking in human beings since 2010. She oversees all aspects on the monitoring of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, including country visits, preparation of reports and recommendations, and follow-up on their implementation.
She also manages the organisation of activities to promote the Council of Europe’s standards on combating human trafficking, in close collaboration with public officials, civil society and other intergovernmental organisations. Ms Nestorova holds Master’s degrees in international Economic Relations and Comparative European Studies, as well as a PhD from the University of Sussex, UK.
