On 10 April 2025, the Chair of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI), Mr Mario Hernandez Ramos, contributed to an online Webinar discussion on Fundamental Rights and Impact Assessments (FRIAs) for AI.

The event, organised by the European Network of Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI), explored key elements for conducting effective FRIA’s under the EU AI Act. Discussions highlighted the crucial role played by National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in ensuring that these assessments are both meaningful, comprehensive, and above all, serve to prevent violations of fundamental rights.
