Meeting with PR representatives of local self-governments

On 15 April 2020, representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, including public relations professionals from local self-governments, met to discuss how best to raise awareness and inform the wider public of the results of the public administration reform in Serbia.

The meeting was organised in the context of the Programme “Human Resources Management in Local Self-Government – phase 2”, which is implemented by the Council of Europe Centre of Expertise for Good Governance.  The Programme supports 50 local self-governments through the Municipality Support Packages (so called MSP), which significantly improved the level of human resource management in local self-governments (LSG). Aleksandar Jovanović, team leader of the Programme, highlighted that over the course of one year, the human resource management performance index in 50 local self-governments significantly increased. The average result, measured in 50 LSGs, is around 74%, showing an average progress of about 20%, compared to the period before the Programme support.

“Human Resource Management in Local Self-Governments – phase 2”, worth €4 million , is jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by Council of Europe in cooperation with the program partners Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities.
