Back Threat to natural habitats and species in Dniester River Delta

The complaint was submitted by the international NGO “Environment People Law” in 2010 concerning the possible breach of Articles 4 and 6 of the Bern Convention by Ukraine due to development plans (commercial ports and touristic infrastructures) in Dniester River Delta, which would, according to the complainant, affect several protected species and habitats under the Bern Convention. the Vjetrenica in thePopovo polje karste area, which is home for 101 troglobiontic organisms of which 14 endemic species. According to the complainant, the cave is negatively affected through the development of tourism activities and other activities such as the extraction of water from the system and agricultural chemicals.
