Strengthening Judicial Ethics in Türkiye
This joint European Union and Council of Europe programme aimed at supporting the Turkish authorities in strengthening judicial ethics in Turkey, in line with European and international standards and practices, within the framework of the EU IPA (Instrument of Pre-Accession) Programme.
Project beneficiaries and stakeholders included: Ministry of Justice, Council of Judges and Prosecutors, Turkish Justice Academy, Union of Turkish Bars Association, Academicians and lecturers from Law Faculties and Training Centers and relevant NGOs.
Initiated in December 2015, the project supported the Council of Judges and Prosecutors in the preparation and finalisation of the Code of Ethics for Judges and Prosecutors in Turkey through a wide consultation process of all relevant stakeholders.
The programme lasted a period of 24 months and ended in December 2017.
