The Committee of Experts on Criminal Asset Recovery (PC-RAC) holds its 2nd meeting in Strasbourg

The Committee of Experts on Criminal Asset Recovery (PC-RAC) held its second meeting from 9 to 11 September 2024 in Strasbourg, under the chairmanship of Mr Cornel-Virgiliu Calinescu (Romania). The meeting was opened by Mr Gianluca Esposito, Director General of the Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law, who underlined the Council of Europe’s commitment in providing tools and mechanisms for recovering proceeds of crime in Europe and beyond. The Committee discussed the provisions of the zero-draft additional protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on laundering, search, seizure and confiscation of the proceeds from crime and on the financing of terrorism (CETS no. 198) and exchanged views on different mechanism used for confiscation of proceeds of crime, special investigative means used thereof and international co-operation in this domain. The next meeting of the PC-RAC will take place from 14 to 16 October 2024.
