The Centre of Expertise and the Association of Basque Municipalities (EUDEL) awarded on Tuesday 20 March, the European Label of Governance Excellence, to 5 Basque municipalities (Basauri, Erumua, Irun, Leioa and Urnieta) having achieved a high overall level of good governance.
The label is symbolised by a crystal dodecahedron engraved with the 12 European principles of good democratic governance. In 2017, the Centre of Expertise launched a pilot good governance project in the Basque country - 9 municipalities participated in the project. A round table to exchange experiences and present the results of the project was organised, in the presence of mayors, councillors.
