Back Local government leaders conclude Leadership Academy Programme

Mayors and senior staff of from fourteen Hungarian municipalities met in Budapest from 12-14 December for the concluding session of the 2023 Leadership Academy Programme (LAP).

In two groups and over five sessions, this capacity building programme involved leaders from more than 30 municipalities covered core leadership and management capacities and their application with particular regard to the Principles of Good Democratic Governance, Public Ethics, Performance Management and Local Finance Management. The programme, hosted by the Hungarian National Association of Local Authorities (TÖOSZ), was – as noted by the participants in thir reflections – highly interactive and designed to support peer learning, sharing ideas and building networks for ongoing collaboration.

The Leadership Academy Programme (LAP) is part of the project  ‘Local Government Public Finance Development and Municipal Capacity Building in Hungary’ project, co-funded by the European Commission’s DG REFORM via the Technical Support Instrument 2022 and by the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance.
