Participation of the Centre of Expertise to the 16th session of the United Nations Committee of Experts in Public Administration (UN CEPA)

The Centre of Expertise is participating in the 16th session of the UN CEPA - United Nations Committee of Experts in Public Administration. The aim is to share the European experience in the area of good governance in order to contribute to the global discussion on a set of internationally recognised principles of responsible and effective governance.

Specifically, as the role of local authorities, importance of leadership, participation, and good governance are being discussed within the UN context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the standards and tools developed by the Council of Europe could be particularly useful.

Notably, the 12 principles of Good Governance, the draft Guidelines on Civil Participation, and the training tool on Leadership Academy are being shared by the Center with international colleagues.

The further cooperation between the CEPA, the Center of Expertise and the CDDG are also being discussed.
