On 22 March the Centre of Expertise kicked-off the policy advice activity focused on island municipalities in Greece. This activity is part of the EU-CoE Technical Assistance Project on Institutional Enhancement for Local Government in Greece to support the revision of the current legislation and enhance the capacity of local government to implement it.

At the request of the Ministry of Interior a number of meetings have been organised with Mayors and Regional Governors from the Cyclades, Ionian Islands, the Dodecanese, north Aegean and Crete. A second round of interviews will involve other small and peripheric islands.
