Mr Gennadiy Kosyak, attending on the behalf of the Good Governance Department and in his capacity of co-ordinator, presented the Panel with a brief outline of the developments of the on-going project Strengthening Local Democracy that is implemented under the PCF framework that are particularly relevant to the Panel’s agenda. The Panel took note of the good co-ordination of action of the Council of Europe with other EU-funded projects in EaP countries and the Panel’s own agenda.
This meeting proved, once again, that the Eastern Partnership (EaP) activities in the area of public administration reform and local government attract serious interest from the respective authorities in the participating countries, namely as concerns Local Finance Benchmarking and Inter-Municipal Co-operation.
