On 14 and 15 October, the CEPEJ Working Group on the Quality of Justice (CEPEJ-GT-QUAL) will meet in Lisbon to continue its work under its 2024-2025 mandate. The group is expected to adopt draft guidelines on the evaluation of the quality of judges' work, with a view to presenting them for adoption at the plenary session in December 2024. It will also continue its discussions on the quality of jurisdictional debate, for which a tool is also being prepared. The progress of the pilot phase of the self-assessment tool to measure the compliance of artificial intelligence tools with the principles of the CEPEJ Ethical Charter will also be discussed. The revision of the CEPEJ's methodology for user satisfaction surveys, as well as sustainability in justice systems will also be on the agenda, with the participation of a representative of the Court Service of Ireland, which has developed a strategy in this area. Finally, the working group will have the opportunity to discuss the joint work carried out with the other CEPEJ working groups on work-life balance in judicial systems.
