Online round table

This online round table will unite justice professionals (judges, lawyers, justice inspectors) and beneficiary institutions (Ministries of Justice, Councils of State, courts, lawyers associations) of the Southern Mediterranean region and will focus on lessons learned from the Covid-19 health crisis and innovative working methods emerged in judicial institutions of the region. The impact of the health crisis on the functioning of the public justice service and the fundamental principles relating to human rights and the rule of law will be discussed in the beginning of the round table. The round table will then be divided in 2 panels, with first panel dedicated to innovative methods and use of information technologies in Southern Mediterranean regions,  as well as looking at European experience, and followed by the second panel on how the health crisis affected justice professionals and users, also making references to a few European examples.

  • 2 pm (CET) – Panel 2. “Impact of the health crisis on professionals and users of justice: challenges and lessons learned”
  • 3.30 pm (CET) – Conclusions and end of the regional round table
