Key beneficiaries and partner institutions participated to the 1st Steering Committee meeting of the Action “Strengthening the quality and efficiency of justice in Albania - SEJ IV” on 21 March.
Representatives from High Council of Justice, Ministry of Justice, High Inspector of Justice, Courts, High Prosecutorial Council, General Prosecution Office, Bar Association, Mediation Chamber and School of Magistrates discussed forthcoming activities and new areas of intervention. They put emphasis on the importance to continue support with concrete measures and unique tools of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) in priority areas for the Albanian judiciary: implementation of judicial map, capacity building of court administration, consolidation of continuous training of the School of Magistrates on CEPEJ tools, further expand of ADR and support to judicial inspection.
The support that will be provided to courts in becoming more transparent and increasing efficiency through innovative approaches and tested CEPEJ tools, such as court user’s satisfaction surveys and online notification platform, was also discussed.
The activity was organized by the Action “Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Albania (SEJ IV)" in the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye” (Horizontal Facility III), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
