On 26 and 27 October 2023, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) organised a training session for some thirty participants (representatives of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), presidents of courts, representatives of the Kosovo Prosecutors' Council (KPC) and of the Public Prosecutor's Office) in coordination with the Academy of Justice in Durrës (Albania), aimed at increasing the efficiency of courts and public prosecutors' offices through better use of the statistical reports and dashboards of the case management system (CMIS).
The CEPEJ's performance indicators were presented, as well as its tools for case weighting, mediation and cyberjustice. The participants were able to share their experience with experts from Croatia, Belgium and Lithuania and to discuss with them, in specific working groups, the implementation of these tools and the statistical data from their respective courts and prosecutors' offices.
The participants showed great interest in introducing concrete measures into their day-to-day work aimed at increasing the efficiency of courts and public prosecutors' offices and making proceedings more transparent and faster for citizens.
The training has already produced tangible results, as the Commission responsible for the administration of prosecutions within the KPC is now considering the issue of producing statistics from the CMIS and discontinuing manual statistics.
This activity was organised by the KOSEJ III action “Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Kosovo” , which is funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe as part of the Horizontal Facility programme.
