“All of us – parents, teachers, communities, governments, – must ensure that technology and new media help children to explore, learn and develop, and not to fall prey to sexual exploitation and abuse,” Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland said, stressing the importance of not shying away from the problem of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children online, but bringing it to light and searching for ways to address it.
The six tutorials and the brochure that have been published, offer practical tips to parents on digital parenting for various age groups – children under eight, those aged between 9 and 12, and between 13 and 17. Specific threats that children face online and what to do if your child falls victim to them, are other themes covered by the video tutorials.
