Austerity measures do not hit all children in an equal way. Cuts to family support, social services, and public transport subsidies increase inequality. In many countries the risk of poverty and social exclusion is higher for children than for adults. Inequality is not always evident; it is not always drastic. But its consequences can be felt and seen.
