Management of human resources of the judiciary in the Republic of Moldova is at the heart of discussions involving the CEPEJ

Court presidents, judges, and staff took part on 5 July 2024 to two focus group discussions regarding the management of human resources in the judicial system and exchanged in particular on issues related to the career (staff recruitment, turnover, talent retention and promotion), working conditions, workload, the environment that would support the work-life balance of employees.

As part of the on-going consultations on working conditions, a survey is being conducted during the month of July among court staff. The results of the survey, along with those of the focus groups, will serve as a basis for the drafting of recommendations on the modernisation of human resources policies in the judicial system of the Republic of Moldova. This work is facilitated by the implementation of CEPEJ guidelines and tools on the workload in courts and related court dashboards, backlog reduction, ensuring gender equality in the recruitment and promotion of judges, organisation and accessibility of court premises, conducting satisfaction surveys etc.

The activities were organised within the framework of the Project “Support to further modernisation of court management in the Republic of Moldova”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance (2023-2027).
