On 26-28 June 2024, 21 representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MoIA) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MoLSP) of the Republic of Moldova participated in a Study Visit to Nuremberg, Germany.
During the Study Visit, the delegation had an opportunity to exchange with the Vice President of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), Dr. Michael Griesbeck and became familiarised with the organisation of the migration and asylum system in Germany. The parties discussed the enhancement of bilateral cooperation with a view to improve the national asylum and reception system bringing it in line with European standards. The delegation got also acquainted with a number of key practical concepts in the context of migration: digitalisation of processes, qualification concept of the BAMF, implementation of the Temporary Protection Directive (TPD) with regard to Ukrainian citizens, integration measures and training of staff.
Besides, Moldovan professionals had an insightful meeting with the representatives of the Federal Employment Agency. The focus of the discussion was on labour immigration framework, social assistance, employment services, including for the Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection and challenges of integrating temporary protection beneficiaries into the labour market.
The study visit to Germany was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the human rights protection of refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova ", funded under the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova (2021-2024) and implemented by the Council of Europe.
