Strengthening institutional capacities of law enforcement practitioners in the Republic of Moldova to identify and mitigate corruption risks

During 19-23 February 2024, the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the National Anticorruption Centre of the Republic of Moldova, organized a series of workshop events on the topic of "Corruption Risk Assessment and Management” which brought together 80 representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, General Prosecutor's Office and Customs Service.

Practitioners from the above-mentioned institutions consolidated their skills in undertaking corruption risk assessment and management measures in line with international practices and national requirements.

Participants were trained through theoretical exercises and simulations on the latest practices and methodological tools for identifying and assessing activities at risk of corruption. Also, during the courses, law enforcement collaborators learned new techniques to improve and refine procedures for reporting the results of corruption risk assessment.

The workshops were organized in the framework of the project "Action against Corruption in the Republic of Moldova - Phase 2" funded by the International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) of the US Department of State and implemented by the Council of Europe.
