The Council of Europe Office in Chisinau held a working meeting with the representatives of the Roma community from the Republic of Moldova. Roma community representatives presented the existing challenges they face, with the aim of identifying solutions and developing the existing cooperation.

Discussions focused on the role of community mediators and the need to strengthen their status in society. The attending associations made several recommendations that would facilitate socio-economic inclusion and the promotion of Roma rights at local and national level.

The participants stressed the importance of maintaining an active dialogue and coordinating efforts for the implementation of the Programme for the support of the Roma population in the Republic of Moldova for the years 2022-2025.
