The Council of Europe and the National Integrity Authority of the Republic of Moldova support the representatives of police inspectorates to increase compliance with the integrity rules and policies

The Council of Europe, in close cooperation with the National Integrity Authority of the Republic of Moldova, organised specialised training events for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Moldova and its subordinated institutions (police inspectorates) in view of enhancing compliance with integrity rules among public servants with special status. The events provided comprehensive knowledge and practical guidance on key areas such as managing conflicts of interest, complying with legal regime of incompatibilities, adhering to hierarchy restrictions, observing advertising limitations, and fulfilling asset declaration requirements.

These events also served as an effective platform to present and share the Guide on integrity rules for public servants with special status from the MIA of the Republic of Moldova, covering integrity tools for this sector and practical examples for enhanced integrity compliance. The Guide was developed with the support of the National Integrity Authority and aims at institutionalising Council of Europe support not only through capacity development but also through detailed recommendations and practical examples on the application of various integrity policies.

This cooperation marks a significant step forward in the fight against corruption in the Republic of Moldova, reinforcing the commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity within governmental institutions.

This support is provided within the framework of the project “Action against Corruption in the Republic of Moldova (Phase 2)”, funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the US Department of State and implemented by the Council of Europe.
