The Digest of the case law of the European Committee of Social Rights is translated into Romanian

The Council of Europe project “Enhancing employment rights in the Republic of Moldova” translated into Romanian the updated Digest of the case law of the European Committee of social rights.

Publication in Romanian is available at the link.

The Charter is a living human rights instrument that the Committee interprets in the light of present day conditions, other relevant international instruments and emerging issues. This Digest reflects the current interpretation by the Committee of each article of the Charter as resulting from its conclusions on the national situations of States Parties and its decisions in collective complaints. It also contains a presentation of the basic principles of interpretation of the Charter and a description of the reporting and collective complaints procedures.

The aim of this Digest is to make the case law of the European Committee of Social Rights on the Charter widely accessible to anyone interested in social rightslawyers, government officials, social partners, civil society, academics, and to enable them to better know and understand the European Social Charter.

The European Social Charter is a Council of Europe treaty adopted in 1961 and revised in 1996, which complements the European Convention on Human Rights by guaranteeing economic and social rights.

“This publication was translated within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024, and the project "Enhancing Employment Rights in the Republic of Moldova" which is co-funded by the Austrian Development Agency and the Council of Europe.”
